Finance: Euro Disney still losing money, but less of it

Posted at 11:34 PM EDT (0334 GMT)

Apr. 27th, 2007 -- Euro Disney, the company which operates the Disneyland Resort Paris complex, has long been suffering financially. On Friday the company reported that it had still lost money in the period from October 1 of last year to March 31 of 2007, but less than it did during the same period in 2005-2006.

During this period, the company lost $111.8 million compared to the same period in 2005-2006, which saw a loss of $138.8 million. Euro Disney attributed the smaller loss to a 600,000-person increase in visitors, as well as increased spending per-room.

About 40 percent of Euro Disney is owned by the Walt Disney Company.

^What do you mean 40% Walt? I can't believe that park is struggling. It looks so much cooler than the other Disney Magic Kingdoms with larger rides, and updated theming. Just comparing it from sattelite it looks better than the other parks. What a shame. It would be raking in the dough in the U.S. I'm sure. Move it to Branson! lol

Why are you surprised. Europe is filled with very good theme park and local parks. park Astrix is Frances pig park it's character is more popular in that area then Mickey mouse. The park is a great looking park but it's also extremely expensive.
Adult: 46€ ($62.836)
Child (aged 3-11 years inclusive): 38€ ($51.908)

Park Astrix
1 day:
Adult: 35€ ($47.81)
Child (aged 3-11 years inclusive): 25€ ($35.15)
2 day
Adult: 66€ ($90.156)
Child (aged 3-11 years inclusive): 46€ ($62.836)

as you can see it's not much of a deal.

^Wow that's a big difference in pricing maybe Disney should offer better deals then and they would possibly get a larger amount of people.
