News: Six Flags holding wedding extravaganza

Posted at 11:25 PM EDT (0325 GMT)

Jun. 6th, 2007 -- ~ Via Press Release

It's going to be the most popular wedding day of the year, and Six Flags Inc. (NYSE: SIX) is throwing celebrations nationwide to celebrate. In what promises to be the most talked- about event of the summer, all 12 Six Flags U.S. parks will host a wedding extravaganza on 7/7/07: Seven weddings at 7 a.m. on July 7, 2007. From Nitro at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey to Goliath at Magic Mountain in Los Angeles to Superman: Ultimate Flight at Six Flags Great America in Chicago and the Titan at Six Flags Over Texas in Dallas, it will be "Thrilled Ever After - A Wedding to Remember!"

"7/7/07' is a day many consider to be the luckiest day of the century, and because traditional chapels and other formal venues are already booked solid given the incredible nationwide demand to marry on that day, Six Flags was inspired to create a unique event that will give many couples a truly memorable way to celebrate," said Mike Antinoro, Six Flags Executive Vice President of Entertainment and Marketing. "It's not every bride and groom who can say they recited their 'I do's' alongside a dolphin, at the top of a 200 ft. roller coaster or inside spinning teacups."

Couples chosen to participate may invite guests to the ceremony, and will be treated to a wedding reception at each park after the nuptials. In addition to this celebration like no other, all participating couples will have the chance to win a one-week honeymoon vacation at any one of 20 Bluegreen resorts located across the country, subject to availability and courtesy of Bluegreen Corporation (NYSE: BXG) .

The response to this one-of-a-kind wedding event has been tremendous. Some married couples are even choosing to renew their vows just for the chance to participate. So, save the date!

Can this get anyone a slight chance closer to riding Kingda Ka's elevator to the top? Wear that safety cord or your new spouse just might throw you over.

Sounds definetly like a fun, creative, and positive Idea from Six Flags. Another positive step forward.

I don't really agree. My brother got married at Story land in Glen, NH.http://z7.invisionfree.com/CanobieFa...owtopic=1716 />
That was planed and Since they were the only ones there it's somethings special. Why would you want to not only get married with 2 other couples at a park. knowing that it's a publicity stunt. i have seen a number of park weeding that were planed that way because of the Couples love for parks, that park, coasters, etc. but this is just gimmicky and like I said a Cheap publicity stunt.

Hmm. Too bad Cyclone at SFMM isn't standing. I'd want to hold on for my life after that one.
