News: Story Land sued over 2004 injury

Posted at 4:21 PM EDT (2021 GMT)

Jun. 8th, 2007 -- Story Land, a New Hampshire theme park owned by Kennywood Entertainment, is being sued by a family over an injury on a tractor ride that allegedly happened in 2004 for a non-specified amount.

The suit claims that a seven-year-old girl was struck three times while boarding the ride, suffering memory and speech function loss as a result. The attorney who filed the suit says that he wanted to wait as long as possible before doing so in order to give the girl time to recover. Both Kennywood Entertainment and the Morrell Corporation, which owned the park at the time of the incident, are named in the lawsuit.

Why should KW have to pay? They just bought the park a little bit ago.

Wait till she recovered?! Then there's no point in suing at all! That's the stupid part about america. Everyone is so eager to sue each other just because they want more money.

I was just going to say what epijlh said. Why was Kennywood even named in the lawsuit?

I personlly think that if Kennywood Hadn't bought the park they would have never sued. If the accident was as bad as they are claiming they would have filed a suit 3 years ago not just now. It's a cheap excuse to weasel some money out of this.

I have been on this ride many times and i have never seen anything like that happen. and From what I was told from a few nurses I is that chances are very rare that you wold ever get simptums like that from this sort of fall.

Now Really...Come on people. She probably wants 1 million, ya know she could not work for these past 3 years! I cant earn millions myself so i will sue for it.

Suing Kennywood entertainment is a joke...I am gonna sue Cedar Fair because the Beast scared me when I rode it as a 8 year old.(i am 30) Just retarded! Only In America, Greed...its so wonderful.

Very good point but this is a girl. And the symptoms are completely absurd. If she was hurt that badly it would have made the papers 3 years ago.
