Posted at 2:30 PM EDT (1830 GMT)

Oct. 20th, 2007 -- Universal City, CA - An “Eco-Fair, ” presenting the latest ideas, tips and technologies via interactive displays, high-impact exhibits and  remarkable demonstrations will make Universal Studios Hollywood a must-see “Green” family destination on Saturday, November 10 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Admission to the Eco Fair is free (but does not include theme park admission).

The Eco-Fair is suitable for the entire family and will be presented by a “Green Team” of experts from over 20 organizations and the Environmental Media Association.

Activities and displays—many of them with “hands-on” interactive features-- will range from simulated tidepools to Segway Personal Transporters, solar-powered blenders and eco-friendly popcorn poppers. Participating organizations will include Heal the Bay, Southern California Edison, Hollywood Beautification Team, Arbonne International, Global Green USA, LADWP, Baldwin Hills Conservancy, Tree People, Window On Our Waters, Los Angeles Conservations Corps.  The Metro will test guests’ Green knowledge in the “Go Green, Go Metro” trivia game awarding exciting prizes and persons arriving via Metro can exchange their ticket stub for a free recycled carry-all bag,  courtesy of the Coca Cola Company  (offer good while supplies last).

The Universal Studios Hollywood Eco-Fair is part of NBC Universal (NBCU) Green Week, November 4-10, 2007.  NBCU Green Week is an unprecedented company-wide weeklong programming effort to help raise awareness and educate consumers about environmental causes.

Universal Studios Hollywood, The Entertainment Capital of L.A., includes a full-day, movie-based theme park and Studio Tour, the CityWalk entertainment, shopping and dining complex, Citywalk Cinemas Stadium 19 with IMAX(R) and the Gibson Amphitheatre concert and special event venue.

This actually sounds like a great idea. I think more theme parks should participate in "green" activities. And personally I think theme parks should take some of the advice from the eco fair like using solar panels and recycling.
