Jan. 29th, 2008 -- When it was announced that Geauga Lake’s ride side was gone for good and that some of the flat rides and roller coasters would find new homes at other Cedar Fair properties, many enthusiasts started making their wish lists.
Dominator found a new home at Kings Dominion, Thunderhawk headed north, the park’s top spin found a new home out west among many ride moves and just this week Carowinds revealed that it has found a new home for the park’s Chance Yo Yo. The ride originally debuted at Geauga Lake in 1978 and thrilled families for years. Carowinds will run Yo Yo (they kept the same name) in the County Fair section of the park. Rumors place it in the spot once home to the park’s first swing ride The Whirling Dervish (wave swinger). Hopefully Yo Yo will be setup the same way as The Whirling Dervish, allowing riders to swing out over Flight Deck (formerly Top Gun – The Jet Coaster). Carowinds plans to debut Yo Yo in March.
