News: Nickelodeon Universe set to open March 15

Jan. 30th, 2008 -- The grand opening of Nickelodeon Universe, the newly revamped The Park at Mall of America, is set for March 15.

Nickelodeon Universe will feature new rides, live shows, attractions, games and daily meet and greets and entertainment by SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, and many of the other Nickelodeon characters.

New Nickelodeon-themed rides that will be added to the seven-acre indoor theme park include: the SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge; Avatar Airbender; and Splat-O-Sphere. Nickelodeon will also establish its largest retail presence at Mall of America, with a brand new Nick store occupying more than 4,000 square feet and offering T-shirts and other souvenirs.

The park is open during construction.
