News: Thunder Road at Carowinds will not open with the park

Mar. 7th, 2008 -- Carowinds has updated their ride list and a new message has appeared stating that the racing wooden coaster Thunder Road will not open when the park does on March 21.

The classic 1976 wooden racer has been getting some major structural work done in the off-season this year and it appears that the ride will need a few more weeks before it will be ready to reopen.
