Posted at 11:45 PM EST (0445 GMT)  Mar. 23rd, 2004 -- The Great Lakes Companies, Inc. is seeking to build a wilderness-themed lodge near Kings Island in Mason, Ohio.
The company wants to build the lodge on the site of a campground next to Kings Island and would relocate it. An indoor waterpark is among many amenities at the proposed resort, which is still in its preliminary planning stages. The Great Lakes Companies, Inc. have previously built the highly successful Great Bear Lodge near Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH and Great Wolf Lodges in Traverse City, MI, Wisconsin Dells, WI and Kansas City. Relocating the campground seems like a tall task, especially one that is fairly popular. However, that resort would make a ton of money due to a very great location.

Oh it’s just another indoor water park...
Seriously how many indoor water parks are going to be built in Ohio? I like water parks but come on... We don’t need this many.

Ah, but we do need one. There currently isn't one near PKI, and the Great Bear Lodge is a lot better place to stay than the local Super 8. No offense, Super 8.

I'm sure the Great Lakes Companies, Inc. will do very well by King's Island.
The Great Bear Lodge has been doing well in Sandusky and I'd expect the same by PKI.

I hope they put one in. Great Bear Lodge in Wis Dells was the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. It was absolutely amazing.

If you don't know the campqround is right next to TG and TG is fairly loud. All the other loud coasters are right in that area also. Guest might not like it so much that they can't sleep because of the rides.
PKI is also getting a waterpark. They don't need another one, except if guests want to come during the winter.
