News: LeSourdsville Lake re-opening bleak

Posted at 2:44 AM EST (0744 GMT)

Mar. 28th, 2004 -- Jerry Couch, owner of LeSourdsville Lake since 2000, has expressed no interest in dealing with a Nebraska man interested in buying the amusement park.

Carl Jennings, owner of Peony Park in Nebraska, said he contacted Couch about his interest.

However, Couch said on Monday he has "had no dealings with Mr. Jennings."

Jennings expressed interest in picnic lands near the park because picnics are "where the money is made."

LeSourdsville Lake has been closed since 1999, with the exception of one shorter-than-normal operating season in 2002.

I hope this park reopens eventually. If there's one thing I can't stand to see---it's another park closing.

This story does not make sense at all. They have been talking which is widely known around here. It seems that Mr. Couch does not want anyone to know about this since there is no word from either sides. From what I have seen, the park is gettin kept up as of two weeks ago. I am not sure why they would clean the park without trying to open. We will see, I guess.
