Give it time... ACE will accept the offer for Big Dipper in 2010, because they'll receive it March 2009.

I'm hoping for the best here fellow ACEr's!
Perhaps a new home at Navy Pier here in Chicago. Seeing as John Miller is from Homewood Il, which is about a half hour away. I promise I'll ride once a week.

Thats really nice for them to just give the coaster to ACE. Hopefully they will find something to do with it.

Cedar Fair said that ACE would have to pay for dismantling, transport, storage, and rebuilding. All of which would add up to a probable hundreds of thousands of dollars...
I seriously doubt ACE will accept the offer...if they haven't already declined.

I didn't win the lottery yet. I would definitely have an island site available in NJ here.

Who's to blame here? CF or ACE? Who is telling the truth? And where in the hell is ACE gonna come up with the $ to take the ride apart, and put it up somewhere else? If they had that kind of money, then the rollercoaster museum we have been raising money for all these years would'ven been built by now. CF just wants to come off as the good guys, saying that they offered them the coaster and so that they can sleep at night. None of the officers (President, VP etc.) at ace were given the offer of taking the Big Dipper off of Cedar Fair's hands.

That sucks. I guess it will just be another pile of firewood very soon then.
I didn't even think about the tearing down, storage and re-building cost.

Cedar Fair is not to blame. You can only do so much when you acquire a sinking ship. I'd say the additions of X-Flight, Villain, Mind Eraser, Superman (whatever the impulse name was), Batman: Knight Flight was the park's undoing.
You can't make a family park into a destination park overnight, and that's exactly what Six Flags tried to do and failed miserably at.

I for one am not blaming cedar fair for the closure. I just want to know who is telling the truth about the Big Dipper.

^True. I see that the coaster will be auctioned off, then later on in the article, it says the coaster won't be. I'll stick by my comments I made back in October. Big Dipper will turn into a pile of toothpicks.

Just so you all know, the thing on ACE buying the coaster Big Dipper was not true. A rep. from ACE cleared that on another coaster site and said that Cedar Fair never said anything to them.
