Good to hear they aren't blaming the park.

The one thing I don't like in the AJC.com interview is that the father says "He didn't do anything wrong, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time." Um, I count jumping two 6 ft fences and entering a restricted area doing something wrong, not only does a statement like that not denote taking responsibilities for ones actions, it really plays the father out like just as much of an idiot as his son. Sorry but the herd has a funny way of weeding itself out. I say more oxygen and natural resources for the rest of us! Yknow people that still have a value of common sense.

That is good to hear the family does not blame the park so maybe this can just come and go quickly for Six Flags but for some reason i still think this will go to court for some reason.

Why did they do an autopsy on him. I think it's fairly obvious that he died because he lost his head.

They will do an autopsy to see if the kid was under the influence of anything.

^Under the influence of anything other than stupidity, that is.
I still feel bad for the family, though.

He could have been taking some weird drug or something you never know.
THANK YOU!! For not blaming the park.
I still say what I said before that he should get a Darwin award or something to celebrate his stupid death.

I totally agree. This should be at the top of the voteing for the Darwin Award.
I doubt the kid was on anything. I think it was just a dare from his friends.

As strange and idiotic as this is, I don't think it's funny when you really think about what happened. Some parents lost their child by decapitation. It sounds funny, but someone is really going through alot of pain. That "Darwin Award" nonsense doesn't value individuals' hearts and souls, it just sees everyone as chemicals who need to die off in order for the species to evolve into a super race that can explore the galaxy for more life billions of years from now. Okay, I know it's a joke and all and I'm taking it way too far, but my point is that the more I step back and put myself in their shoes the more I realize that it's someone's suffering that they're really going through.

Well, there's nothing funny about the loss of a life, but like Mohead said, the boy was unintentionally asking for it when he jumped two 6-foot-high fences that said "Danger", "Authorized Personnel Only", and the like. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time, but he brought it on himself.

Lildeedee, I am sorry that he was your friend. But, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time for doing something wrong. He jumped two six foot fences to take a short cut.
If he would have followed the signs on the fence, he wouldn't have been killed. Simple as that.

For those of you nominating this kid for a darwin..stop.
HE'S A MINOR!
As STUPID as the kid was, and the fact that HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER...minor's (no matter how old or how much they lack rational thought) cannot be nominated.
Ya'll should know this!
Thank god the parents aren't sueing the park. At least they have SOME intellegence (though, the comment about "being at the wrong place at the wrong time" makes one wonder).
Let this be a lesson learned to others. Two fences and a 'Restricted Area' sign that are designed to keep you out aren't there for looks or as a SUGGESTION!

Yes, he did a stupid thing, and he paid for it with his life. I look back at some of the stupid stuff my friends and I did at that age, and only now do I realize how lucky we are that we didn't end up like this kid.
Furthermore, being a father of three, I really feel for the parents. I can't even imagine receiving that kind of news.
It's a wonder any of us survive our teen years!

Hey lildeedee, He wasn't in the wrong place at the wrong time. I think the timing worked out perfect. Um, BTW the only reason he was in the wrong place is cause he jumped two 6 foot fences. If you don't think entering a restricted area is wrong than you're an idiot. An example of Wrong Place/Wrong time would be, It first denotes that he was minding his own business doing the right things, when an outside influence enters the situation and changes things dramatically. Jumping two restricted fences, is NOT doing the right thing. So how can you say he was in the wrong place, heres another thing to live by since you sound as stupid as Asia'a old man, Wrong Place= Entering a restricted area, Wrong Time=During operating hours. I wish I was on the jury when idiot boys parents decide to sue because the fences were't electrified to further insure that they keep his obviously stupid son out. Hey people park employees aren't YOUR babysitters!

Lildeedee: I feel sorry for his parents and friends but i just cannot feel sorry for the boy. You say wrong place at the wrong time but nobody is supposed to be in that "place" at any given time while the ride is running so it was basically his own stupidity that got him killed.
I feel more sorry for the people on the train who had to see that if they even saw anything at all and luckly he didn't hurt anyone else.
