Jul. 2nd, 2008 -- Batman The Ride reopened after a 17-year-old boy was killed in the ride area Saturday.

Ummm, WHY would they take out the ride? It's obviously a safe ride and very popular too. Sorry about what happened, but Six Flags would NEVER take out one of their most popular rides in the park.

Nitro Luver... I think Coastergeek was making a jab at the SFKK Superman removal.

I sure hope so, but you know as well as I do that people make some off the wall comments from time to time.

Unfortunately for the park, it brought some bad publicity that was not needed. Fortunately the inspection did not take long and the ride opened quickly giving the general public a sense of safety.

And now people will probably even be drawn to the park to see "the ride that killed someone." Usually that's how these type of situations go.

^^ Now that I actually HIGHLY doubt. I mean honestly outside of coaster enthusiasts, who really remembers the deaths of people that occur on roller coasters? Do non enthusiasts remember the tragic accidents on rides like Goliath (east), S:ROS, Incredible Hulk, Scream, Expedition Everest, Primeval Whirl, Gwazi, Lightning Loop, Revenge of the Mummy, Rock n Roller Coaster? The simple fact is that once an accident happens, the general public tends to forget about it soon afterward too.

^^ I classify this as more of an incident than an accident.

Well accordding to CNN the family has decided to sue. I'm shocked but not suprised.

I can't believe this family thinks they are owed money for their dumd kid. I no longer feel sorry for this family cause they are clearly just as stupid as their son was & if they get any money from SF then i can only hope the family meets the same fate their son did.

If that makes me a bad person then so be it.

There's no way they're getting money. They shouldn't

What are they going to do? Blame the park for not having an electric fence? Blame the park for not having barbed wire? Sorry this isn't a prison, it's an amusement park. If TWO fences are warning signs aren't enough to stop someone, I don't know what is.

As for the GP, I'm sure you'll hear people saying, OMG no way, didn't you hear someone got decapitated while riding it? Yeah, it's lykke soooo dangerous!!!1!!!!111!

Sadly i think they will cause a friend brought up some good stories and one of them being this 18yo jumped a fence to swim in a pool that was closed and he drowned and his family sued & won.

It just sucks that this amazingly stupid family will get money and just crush SF to where they might have to sell of another park or two. Then again they do have 1 or 2 parks they can spare.

Unfortunately, that's the way it works in this country. If you have a pool in your own back yard and some neighbor kid jumps the fence and drowns in it, you're screwed. Nine times out of ten, you will lose in court.

Hell, if someone trips on a crack on your sidewalk, they can sue you and win too.

Fact is, I am not a big Six Flags fan. I think they're too big and do everything half ass. I'm sure it was a chain link fence. That's not keeping anybody out...doesn't matter how tall it is. Looks ghetto too. A wood plank fence would be better.
