Jul. 31st, 2008 -- A judge set the trial in a lawsuit between Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and the family of a girl whose feet were severed on a ride last year.
Judge Barry Willett scheduled the case for Jan. 5, 2010. He set a Nov. 23, 2009, deadline for the family's and amusement park's lawyers to settle the case.
On June 21, 2007, Kaitlyn Lasitter's legs were severed after a cable snapped on Superman Tower of Power. Lasitter and her family are suing SFKK. They claim the park improperly maintained the ride.
The park has denied liability in the accident.
The ride had been examined numerous times by experts, said a lawyer of the family.
A Kentucky Department of Agriculture report blamed the accident on a faulty cable and slow response by a ride operator.
