Posted at 3:38 PM EST (2038 GMT)

Apr. 3rd, 2004 -- Friday April 9th, Legoland is opening Dino Island which is the home of 2 of the park's 5 new attractions. The centerpiece of the new area is Coastersaurus, a roller coaster that transports kids through a themed Jurassic jungle. . Riders will move past a 1,100-pound Brachiosaurus, a 10-foot-tall Parasaurolophus and a horned Styracosaurus.

Another new attraction is Dig Those Dinos, a 2,400 square foot sand pit where kids can uncover fake dinosaur bones, claws, and teeth. There is also a water play area and an area where children and adults can see how they themselves measure up to dinosaur footprints (while posing for photos of course).

Memorial Day weekend, the Fun Town Fire Academy attraction opens. In this ride, families leap into fire trucks and race each other to the site of a fake burning building to put out flames. On June 18th, the park will be adding a Florida section to "Miniland USA" with recreations of Cape Canaveral, Miami Beach and the Daytona International Speedway.

Like all attractions at Legoland, the new ones will be aimed at kids ages 2-12.

Sounds like some good additions for this park. They are perfect for the type of crowd they want to attract.

I'm sure a lot of kids will really enjoy this---even those older than 12.
