 Nov. 11th, 2008 -- ThrillNetwork member coasterell was on-hand for a special occasion one week before closing weekend at Cedar Point. Lance, also known by some as Maverick or Magnum Lance hit 1,000 rides on Maverick and coasterell was on the train when Lance made his personal record-breaking ride.
coasterell was at Cedar Point along with her father and boyfriend, who can be seen in the video sitting in front of Lance and coasterell. The ride came several weeks after the camera operator and Lance couldn’t seem to link up their schedules.
Last year Lance finished the season with 402 rides on Maverick.

I got to ride next to Lance at Coastermania this year on his 500th ride. He was so excited and so happy to be constantly riding Maverick.
500 rides in one season on one coaster is a great achievement!

I'm sure i rode Afterburn 1,000 times in 2005 but i didn't count plus i'm sure i'm reaching or have surpassed 1,000 rides on Haunted Mansion this year.
Neither of those have single rider lines.

I've run into him a few times. He's one of the people who I don't know, but I know he visits the park a lot. 1,000 on Maverick is incredible. I can see how it's possible, though. If you just ride nothing but Maverick and use the single-rider line, it can be done.

I still don't see the big deal about marathoning a roller coaster. Granted I love Nitro, but even I would tire of it if I rode it THAT often in one season.
