News: Mission Space boosts Epcot's attendance

Posted at 11:49 PM EDT (0349 GMT)

Apr. 7th, 2004 -- Attendance at Walt Disney World's Epcot theme park rose by 4 percent in 2003. 8.6 million visitors visited the Orlando park, mostly in part to the addition of Mission Space.

The $100 million ride was a big draw for Disney World, especially after a heavy marketing campaign for the ride. Experts say the attendance boost exceeded everyone's expectations. The Orlando parks have recently been struggling with attendance due to a drop in tourism.

Does anyone know how this rise compares to the one after Test Track was introduced?

Sorry phil, but I don't know.

I'm not surprised by the increase in attendance. I'm actually surprised that the increase isn't more than 4%
