News: Valleyfair! to add interactive kid's area for 2004

Posted at 8:45 PM EST (0145 GMT)

Dec. 9th, 2003 -- For the 2004 season, Valleyfair! in Shakopee, MN will be adding a Zamperla Rockin' Tug and a Foam Ball Factory to a new area dubbed "Kidworks".

Both rides will be located in the former area of Berenstain® Bear Country. The Rockin' Tug was voted the best new children's attraction by IAAPA in 2002, and sales have caught fire since. The foam ball factory will feature a multi-level funhouse with thousands of foam balls. Kidworks will open on May 15th, 2004. To read more and see some artwork, click here.

This is pretty cool. They added Steel Venom for the 2003 season and instead of going crazy and keeping the focus on thrills, they're helping out the parents and kiddies too. I like that.

The Foam Ball Factory looks like a lot of fun... to bad I’m too big to use it.... :(

I'd try to get in there anyway, Zero G! Those things are cool.

KidWorks is a fantastic place for parents to bring thier children throughout the day. There's a Kiddie Train, a Squiggles show (similar to the 'WIGGLES'), the Rockin' Tug, the Woodline Express (a slide), the FoamBall factory (entertaining, but LOUD), a children's hedge-maze, and DryDock (a place for lost children or excited kids to color and read).

Our current 54" height requirement for the FoamBall factory is necessary to give the younger children the most opportunity to play in there. Otherwise there would be several bossy, if not unruly teenagers (sorry if I seem stereo-typical here) really ruining several little kids' day at the park.
