Posted at 12:32 PM EDT (1632 GMT) Apr. 12th, 2004 -- At 7:20 p.m., a carousel at the Lianozovo park in Moscow fell to the ground. The carousel is a high speed carousel with a hydraulic mechanism. The hydraulic mechanism malfunctioned when the carousel was rising. The carousel then took a plummit to the ground. Thirteen people needed to be hospitalized. One woman is in critical condition, while two others are seriously injured. One person had a broken back, and five others had broken bones. Officials have been chosen to examine the ride and see what caused the hydraulic system to malfunction. All of the parks rides have been certified through 2006.
