May. 17th, 2004 -- The Maryland Court of Appeals has thrown out a $2.5 million civil verdict in a racial discrimination lawsuit against Six Flags America.
The Court of Appeals ruled that lawyers for the plantiffs in the case wrongfully used insinuations of racial discrimination in the lawsuit. In 1999, a family was at the Largo, Maryland amusement park when they were told their child was too short to ride the Typhoon SeaCoaster. The family refused to leave their boat, and a scuffle ensued. The case has been sent back to a lower court for a new trial. For more information: WJLA-TV 7
