Posted at 7:57 AM EDT (1157 GMT) May. 20th, 2004 -- Due to the accident on Superman: Ride of Steel, Intamin AG has mandated lapbelt changes. Millennium Force, one of Cedar Point's most popular attractions, is one of those rides affected.
After the accident, the Sandusky, Ohio amusement park has changed the seatbelts to come across the side of the train. The repositioning has lowered the size limit for the ride, meaning some people who have ridden Millennium Force in the past can no longer ride it. For more information, visit: Newsnet5.com

HAHAHA, that sucks for all yall Cedar Point Fans. I really don't think that when some thing happends at another park (deadly or not) should not have an effect on how another park is ran. Cedar Fair and Six Flags that is. Even tho that accident happend on Superman, i think that they should not have to change the ride at different parks. IMO.

I don't think that CP should be affected by events that happen outside their parks, BUT from what I've heard is that CP didn't have a choice.
My understanding is that according to Ohio state law, if a ride manufacturer requests a change to a ride, then the ride MUST be changed. In this case, Intamin said that the belts on MF had to be changed and these new limits implimented, so they were changed.

It's not Six Flags fault for all the seatbelt changes. Intamin realized that the seatbelts were NOT efficient were they were, so they ordered all parks with the same restraint system to change them.

That sucks for all the people that can't ride it this year. That is really going to be a disappointment.

It actually is a combination of six flags and intamins fault. if intamin would have made the seat belts smaller in the first place, so he couldn't ride, or if six flags would have been smart enough to check the restraints, this wouldn't have happened.

^ I agree. No changes would have been made (on any Intamin ride in any park) had that guy not died at SFNE.

I feel sorry for the ride ops that will have to tell people they are too fat to ride.
Another case of one persons stupidity causing problems for everyone else.

I hate Intamin AG because of this. Just become of some person who got on the ride who souldent, and fell off, is not Intamin's problem........
IM gonna file a law sute agents them if I go to a park and want to ride a ride that i can't. If they say they build the ride for healthy people that will be discrimiation..
