News: 2003 Steel Coaster Poll Results

Dec. 17th, 2003 -- The top three steel roller coaster of 2002 can once again be found at their respective places. Expedition GeForce has grown in popularity and strongly stands at the top of the list.

Edmonton's Mindbender deserves some credit because it is the oldest roller coaster ever to reach the top 10. This Schwarzkopf roller coaster was opened in 1985 and is still popular amongst enthusiasts. The few that have ridden Mindbender prefer it to both Expedition GeForce and Superman Ride of Steel (SFNE).

The top ten steel coasters are:

2. Superman Ride of Steel at Six Flags New England
3. Millennium Force at Cedar Point
4. Mindbender at Galaxyland Amusement Park
5. Nitro at Six Flags Great Adventure
6. Nemesis at Alton Towers
7. Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood Park
8. Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point
9. Superman Ride of Steel at Six Flags Darien Lake
10. Goliath at Six Flags Holland
