Jun. 30th, 2004 -- About 10 percent of the 210-acre amusement park was covered in water on Tuesday reaching up to 3 feet. The closure at 2:45 p.m. has been the earliest since the late 1970s.
There was enough water flowing up over the walkways that park goers could not wade through. Park employees wore life jackets and helped to corral the spectators out of the park. Although more rain is expected the park plans to open up at 10 a.m. today. Currently no damage has been found on any of the rides but the larger coasters will remain closed until further inspection can be done. For more information, please visit KVue
