News: Mr. Six at Six Flags Great America

Posted at 4:13 PM EDT (2013 GMT)

Jun. 30th, 2004 -- Mr. Six, that irresistible, quirky, dancing old man, famous for delivering stressed out families from the drudgery of an overscheduled life to a day of ultimate fun, will make his first public appearance at Six Flags Great America on Friday, July 9. In honor of this TV icon's first public visit, Mr. Six wannabes will be invited to party at the park for free and compete in a look-alike contest featuring a $2,500 cash prize and a dance lesson choreographed by America's most talked-about new character, Mr. Six.

The look-alike contest is open to all eligible parties with participants being judged on wardrobe, creativity and personality. Finalists who best emulate Six Flags' "Ambassador of Fun" will be taught a few of Mr. Six's famous moves and dance to his popular theme song "We Like to Party" by the Vengaboys. A celebrity panel of judges will award the winner $2,500 in cash, Six Flags family Season Passes, and a personally autographed photo of Mr. Six.

Participants (all ages welcome, male or female) must register at sixflags.com by July 7. The web site explains minimum costume requirements and overall contest rules. Pre-registration is required.

Up to 500 pre-registered participants who arrive at Six Flags Great America dressed like Mr. Six will receive free admission and parking on July 9, 2004. All participants are invited to enjoy playtime with their family for the rest of the day.

Six Flags Great America is located in Gurnee, Ill., midway between Chicago and Milwaukee off I-94 at the Grand Avenue East (Rte. 132) exit. For more information, visit sixflags.com or call 847-249-2133.

I can see it now, this is going to be one fun day! Hopefully I'll be able to make it out there, and get video/images for everyone here. If you live around SFGAm, come out and have fun! It'll be funny to see about 500 Mr. Six lookalikes.

Hope to see you all there! I'll be one of the idiots dancing and wobbling around the park in a tux in the middle of July. Mostly because if I don't have to pay for my pass next year, I won't ^_^

I might go that day if I can...but not dressed up. On the main page of the SFGAm website, I like the little kid on it dressed as Mr. Six, it looks pretty funny.
