Posted at 7:49 PM EDT (2349 GMT) Aug. 9th, 2004 -- Shaun Rajewski has created a petition to push the public to realize that a contructed replica of the Ravine Flyer coaster, would help the city. The city of Erie could get a large boost of tourism and revenue if Waldameer adds a fantastic roller coaster.
However, the project didn't go by the council quite easily. A local resident is concerned that the new coaster would come in close contact with his house, and campground. The state stalled the project around 2 years, before finally allowing a zoning contruction firm to approve the new coaster. Millcreek Zoning Board approved the zone, and gave the permit to build the new coaster. Many people have already signed up for the petition. William Burkmen signed the petition, and had a few words to say: "I will say that the reason I want the coaster to be built, is because it will bring a lot of tourism to the area, boost of the amusement parks revenue, and it will be a great addition!" ThrillNetwork was unable to contact any state or park officials in this story. You can help push the project forward by signing the petition. It's easy to do, and it's quick.
