This, to me, is one of those moms that can't take no for an answer. I feel The park is right.

The park has the rights in this case. Rules are rules, follow them or get the boot.

I can't stand some parents. When it comes to their kids, they can do whatever they want and rules never apply to them. I'm glad to hear they were kicked out of the park. I wish parks would more often take proactive steps like this.

What was missing from the KSTP segment was that the woman was offered (by park staff) clothing from the park to cover her child. She refused this offering and instead berated a heavyset man nearby that was walking with his shirt off. Witnesses claim she mentioned that he had large breasts and should have to cover himself for being indecent.

Are you guys insane?
It's a frigging two year old. How uptight have we become in this country that a two year old girl has to have her breasts covered while swimming.
I'm not saying the park doesn't have the right to insist and kick her out, because they do. It's their park, and they can enforce any stupid policy they want. But I am saying that this country is so sexually uptight it makes me want to puke.
T W O Y E A R S O L D! Two years old! She's got NOTHING. She's a little baby! She does not need a top at the pool my friends! Are you all insane?
Further more...how did they know it was a girl?...because she had long hair in pony tails?...because her bottoms were pink? If her hair had been short and her bottoms blue, would anyone have known she was female?
Good God! What if there are little girls running around without shirts who don't have long hair? How would we know they were girls? We might think they were boys and everyone would see their little chests! They better start checking genitals at the gate...just to be sure we get tops on those little harlets!
She was right to point out that fat man and his disgusting breasts! He can walk around and let those totally gross things bounce around...completely uncovered without any problems. And why? Because he has a penis. Plain and simple. Because his breasts will not one day be used to feed a baby.
I'm sorry...I guess I'm on a rant now, but I just hate this kind of stupidity in the land I live in. People are so blind. They will sit here and look at Iraq and say...It's terrible that they make their women cover their faces...then turn around and say "it makes perfect sense to give a sitation to a mother that insists her two year old girl does not need a top over her chest." Insanity.
God this country is uptight.
...by they way, totally off topic...my source (This Dip-n-Dots guy) tells me that the state of Ohio has shut down Top Thrill. It was NOT a voluntary move by CP. It may be a long time before we see that ride up again.

Ok JumboJet, here's the point the park made that I completely agree with: Where do you draw the line? Now there's a 12 year old girl, also with no breasts so should she be allowed to go without a top? How about a flat chested 25 year old? Breasts or lack thereof should not be a deciding factor as to attire at a park. In America, it's not acceptable for women to be topless in public, regardless of age. I don't agree with this thought, having been to Europe and seeing the freedom they have with every beach being topless. I don't think it's a big deal, but the park has rules for a reason and I support them.

You have made my point exactly!
In America, it's not acceptable for women to be topless in public, regardless of age.
There's no logical reason a two year old female should have to wear a shirt, but in america it's not acceptable...there's no logical reason for it, but it's not acceptable! Just as in some middle eastern cultures it's not acceptable for women of any age to show their face...errrrr...hold on a minute!! That's not quite right, is it? In those middle eastern cultures, girls CAN show their faces until they reach a certain age!! Hmmm....I wonder how they decided to draw that line?
Hard to draw the line?...no it's not. They don't have any trouble drawing the line when it comes to children's admission prices. How about female children three and under don't need a shirt. That wasn't so hard.
I'm a pretty liberal person, and it doesn't surprise me that nobody here really agrees with me. I also tend to RANT, and that tends to put people off. So, I'm going to tell you something else you won't agree with. The main reason the majority of you agree with the park is because you're male. I would bet that most women would find this as crazy as I do. The child's mom certainly did.
Hold it...hold the phone....what do I see on TV right now?...it's a diaper comercial! Holy Jeeze! You are not going to believe what I'm looking at right now! A topless female todler on network television! How do I know she's female? Well, she's got a little pink bow in her hair, so she must be a girl. This is just wrong!

JumboJet,
I am a male with a 5 month old daughter. I have to say that upon reading the initial news statement above, I was angered. I was happy to see that you took the side of the mother and child on this case.
I agree that there should not be an issue until the child is at least 3 years of age. Even at that point it should not even matter, but I can see the cause for concern after that age. There are perverts out there, but I don't think that a baby girl under the age of three should have to wear a top while swimming.
This is absurd, that they would kick out a mother and her baby, just because the BABY (girl) was not wearing a top, while other BABIES (boys) were allowed to rome around topless. Come on people!
They are babies! Don't you get it? My five month old daughter hardly has any hair right now. She could easily look like a boy.
The only reasoning I see behind this is that we live in the USA. In this USA there is a law that women must cover their breasts in public. Why this law is in place, You got me! A boob is a boob! What makes my boob any different than my wife's boob? Her's is bigger, yes. Other than she can produce milk, what is the difference? Nothing.
We both have nipples. Actually it is the nipple that is the big deal right? Girls are allowed to wear bikini tops that come close to showing the whole breast except the nipple.
Anyway, I am getting off topic here. My point is. The only reasoning I see on the parks behalf is that we live in the USA and in the USA there is a law that women must cover there nipples. Some parents of other baby girls may have gotten offened that there was a two year old girl running around with out her top and that there daughters might wonder why she is allowed to do it but they aren't.
They most likely have trained their daughters that it is not ok to show your breasts in public. That 'girls' breasts are private and boys breasts are for everyone to look at. Imagine how confusing that is for a little girl. Growing up a boy, I never had this issue. But I can't imagine growing up a girl and having be told that you have to cover your boobies and boys don't have to. How confusing for a child. They look identical for Christs sake!

I find the whole situation quite humorous. I mean, its not like anyone cares if a two year old girl has her shirt off, but, well, the park did have rules, and they were probably to avoid decency questions about where "the line" is for going topless. I think it was funny that the mom fought it out. I think the whole thing's funny.

^ So let's throw all the rules out the window and have complete Anarchy!!
JumboJet: How uptight have we become in this country that a two year old girl has to have her breasts covered while swimming.
Response: You have some nerve calling others uptight, when your post was about a 9 on the tension scale.
JumboJet: They will sit here and look at Iraq and say...
Response: What other countries do or don't do is not the issue---DON'T SPIN!
JumboJet: I just hate this kind of stupidity in the land I live in.
Response: You're free to leave at any time. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out, lol.
JumboJet: ...by they way, totally off topic...my source (This Dip-n-Dots guy) tells me that the state of Ohio has shut down Top Thrill. It was NOT a voluntary move by CP. It may be a long time before we see that ride up again.
Response: by the way, TTD is scheduled to be in operation today (you could have checked CP's web site, before making such claims)
JumboJet: I'm a pretty liberal person
Response: Gee, I never would have guessed.
JumoJet: How about female children three and under don't need a shirt. That wasn't so hard.
TurnpikeJoe: I agree that there should not be an issue until the child is at least 3 years of age
Response: Hmmmm.......both of you say age three and the girl in question just happens to be age two. How convenient.
Hold it...hold the phone....what do I see on my computer right now?...TTD's load station full of people???? How can that be????

Well Magnum, your comments lead me to believe that you're pretty young, and I don't want to get into a battle with you, but I will make one last rebutal on this topic, and then I'm going to stop so as not to turn this into a flame fest.
First of all, I'm not suggesting we get rid of the rules. I'm simply suggesting that in this case, I believe the rule is wrong and should be changed. You see Magnum, that's how this country works. That's what it was founded on. Your comments suggest that the rules should be followed blindly and never questioned. History has shown that to be a dangerous and stupid way to live. You further suggest that in stead of pointing out what I see as stupidity in this land, I should leave the United States. That's just idiotic.
Looks like my source was wrong. TTD is running...errrr....wait a minute...looking at the site right now. Closed for Maintinence. No rides today.

Though the child was 2 years old, trying to alter discretion for varying guests throughout the day causes hundreds of headaches in several departments.
It can be painful trying to maintain the proper protocol for ALL guests when someone knows they'd rather let it slide, but rest assured it will prevent more problems than it would create.
This is another situation where if you want more info, get in contact with our Marketing Department (er Media Relations, whoever deals with it...because i'm posting @ 2 am!)

Jumbojet & Turnpike Joe,
I agree with you guys! Has it gotten to the point that a 2 year old can't even bath topless. This is ridiculous! Let kids be kids. Why force them to cover up when they don't have to? We're send the mixed message to kids "Boys can go topless at all times but girl have to cover their chest at all times." Why? Prepubcent boys and girls look pretty much the same from the waist up. Let them worry about breasts later.
Recently, I saw a show that blocked out a 7-9 year old little girls' chest who clearly had a shirt on, hadn't started developing yet and whose nipples weren't even showing through her shirt. Have we gotten that paranoid? In other countries, topless beaches are a common sight. Nipples are not airbrush out of ads because some paranoid mother or a jealous supressive older woman complains which what has happened in this country. Yes, there are perverts out there, but the vast majority of people are not. Are we scared of the minority of people?
Wives are worried that their husbands won't be able to control themselves if they see bare breasts all the time.Don't you see? We are dumping the responsibility of men's behavior on the poor women and goverment. Sure, us men might drool at first. But after a while it will be no big deal.

I agree with the mother. You can't compare a 2 year to a 12 year old. A mere 2 year old, who doesn't even know about whats going on in some cases, is being treated like some whore and kicked out of a park. There are certain age lines where it becomes inapproriate, but two years old? Come on! I'm on the mom's side.
