Posted at 12:08 AM EDT (0408 GMT) Aug. 16th, 2004 -- For the third time in two months, Cedar Point's Top Thrill Dragster has been shut down. The cause this time was a launch cable, which became disconnected from a train. Fortunately, no one was hurt. As a result, the ride was shut down for eleven hours on Saturday as the problem was fixed and cables were replaced. After successful test runs, the ride remained open for about an hour before the park closed. Cedar Point officials have said that Top Thrill Dragster has been operating properly all day Sunday.
