Castaway Bay, Cedar Point's indoor waterpark that is currently under construction, is about 70 percent completed, according to a report released yesterday. It will officially open on November 5.
The waterpark will stand five stories tall and cost around $22 million when completed. Castaway Bay will be 38,000 square feet, packed with 11 water slides, a 520 foot-long water coaster, a 100,000 gallon wave pool, and many other attractions, all with a Caribbean theme. <> Construction on the waterpark is expected to end in late September. After that, employees must be trained, and the park must be inspected and licensed before Castaway Bay opens November 5. <> For more on this story, see the Morning Journal and the official Castaway Bay website.
