Posted at 6:29 PM EDT (2229 GMT) Aug. 21st, 2004 -- On August 8, 19-year-old Douglas Frederick managed to trick a Cedar Point worker and steal $1,000 from a game has been charged with obstructing official business, theft, conspiracy and burglary.
According to court documents, Frederick, dressed up as an employee, instructed a worker at a Bean Bag Toss game to report to the game office and ran off with $1,000 in the employee's absence. At the same time, a 15-year-old girl attempted to do the same at the Winner's Circle game, but failed to convince workers there she was an employee. Frederick was later seen with the girl and another man, Shaun O'Donnell. Police caught the girl, but Frederick and O'Donnell escaped, only to be caught later. See The Morning Journal for much more on this story.

I'm surprised that the people actually believed it.

All I can say is why didn't the one who was in the "CP raincoat" didn't ask for ID. We are required to have our ID out if we are in our rainsuits or windsuits.
I wonder what happened to the employee who ended up getting what he had stolen?

The staff are not idiots. Aint no use for the name calling. It's not their fault. How would you feel if it happened to you? They are some of the nice workers at the park that I have seen. All that I have seen are.

The employee who asked for the person's ID did the correct thing. I can't believe the first person would report to the office after being told from someone they didn't know and who had no ID. That's just dumb.

Well Chip, new people are rather easier to manipulate than seasoned vets. It happens in retail, factories and as this may have shown, parks. Even though I don't know how old the one worker was.
Jeez, if these people were THAT hard up for money, rob a bank, its easier.

Yeah, it seems like a lot of trouble to go through for a thousand dollars.

It seemed like it was a good idea since it worked, at least at first. The stupid part was that they stayed in the park so that they were later caught. Idiots. I'm glad to hear that they were caught though.
