Finance: EuroDisney is facing bankruptcy

Posted at 3:19 PM EST (2019 GMT)

Dec. 30th, 2003 -- EuroDisney is facing serious debts, to the tune of 1.5 billion pounds. Decreased attendance has hurt Disneyland Paris and a spokesman said the park could go under as early as March 31st.

Many blame the post-9/11 tourism industry, while others place the blame on things such as the rising cost of the Euro, the war in Iraq and even SARS. One thing is certain, EuroDisney needs a serious boost in attendance quickly.

Reminds me of that Simpsons episode... where they have Euro Itchy and Scratchyland. The guy at the ticket booth was really bored and you could hear the wind.

After my recent visit to Disneyland Resort Paris, I am not surprised. The park is really a disgrace. Maintenance is poor, the employees are rude and don't seem to know how to smile. I can write a book about the terrible state the Paris Resort is in.

I just hope they find a solution, and bring the park back to its former beauty.
