News: Busch Gardens new ride is a big surprise

Posted at 12:26 PM EDT (1626 GMT)

Sep. 10th, 2004 -- Busch Gardens Williamsburg has kept their newest attraction a big secret and rumors across coastal Virginia have been floating around abundantly.

The only thing the park has mentioned is through a sign around the project area. It says "The other side is closer than you think." Park officials are very tight-lipped, only saying that the new ride is a thrill ride that will push the envelope of theme park technology. The 40,000 square-foot area will be the home of something special come next spring.

Seems pretty awesome whatever it is. I might have to go down there in 2005 to ride this and appolo's chariot.

I hope it's a big roller coaster because I'm going to BGW next summer.

Why in the world is people thinking this is a roller coaster?!?!
IT WILL BE A 4-D SIMULATOR.

DEJA-VU RULES, have you even read anything in the 2005 construction? Does this actually look like it can fit a big coaster? http://www.screamscape.com/html/bgw_..._side_3.html />
Also, it said the thrill ride pushes the envelope of theme park technology.
A) It said thrillride
B) A coaster would not push the envelope on theme park technology.

Ooh, SOMEBODY needs an attitude adjustment. But you do have a point. The way it is described, it will probably be a dark ride of some sort. Doesn't BGW already have a 4-D attraction? Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought I heard they had one a few years back. And "The other side is closer than you think"? Maybe themed to the afterlife? I think a dark ride themed to heaven/hell would be pretty cool.

WOW...a Drachen Fire simulator would be nice. That's what I vote for. Man...thet darn thing got recycled. Somewhere somebody is opening a can of peaches or using a shoe horn that once used to be...I can't even say it.

I think its one like spiderman, but themed to werewolfs. In the picture, you can see two of them howling at the moon. http://www.screamscape.com/html/bgw_...ark_side_2.html
