News: Knott's Berry Farm opens Lucy's Tugboat

Posted at 2:31 PM EDT (1831 GMT)

Sep. 15th, 2004 -- BUENA PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 2004--It's time for a nautical adventure with Knott's queen of the sea Lucy Van Pelt as you board Lucy's Tugboat, Knott's newest addition to Camp Snoopy.

Young sailors will need to get their sea legs as they brave the waves in this rolling excursion that takes passengers to a height of 21 feet and back again as they spin through the ocean's current. The crew need not worry though, with Lucy at the helm the voyage returns safely into port.

Lucy's Tugboat is the 14th addition to Knott's Camp Snoopy since it's debut in 1983 and is located directly behind the newly refurbished Peanuts' Playhouse. Camp Snoopy remains the most beloved children's wonderland anywhere. Lushly themed to the California Sierra, the six-acre kids' paradise features 31 attractions based on the popular Schultz cartoon characters.

While in Camp Snoopy you won't want to miss Joe Cool's GR8 SK8, a mini-thrill ride for the whole family, or the Camp Snoopy Theatre, home to a variety of shows starring Snoopy and the PEANUTS Gang. Charlie Brown Speedway(SM) is exclusively for little racers and their parents. Snoopy's Red Baron airplanes, Rocky Road Trucking Company's mini-18-wheelers, the kid-sized Timberline Twister roller coaster and many other adventures also await the young and the young at heart!

Knott's is located 10 minutes from Disneyland(R) Resort and 30 miles south of downtown Los Angeles. For operating hours and information on the day that you plan to visit, call Knott's Information at 714-220-5200, or visit us online at knotts.com.

I like Rock'n Tugs. They are fun but not very thrilling. And that is a perfect combination for younger kids.

Maybe they'll have a rockin' tug at my fair this year. My nephew would love it.
