Posted at 7:04 PM EDT (2304 GMT) Sep. 18th, 2004 -- The Key West Dolphin Fest, an eight year-old show at SeaWorld Orlando, will be closing soon for renovations. The park has announced that a new show will take its place in 2005, but there has been no word yet on what it will be. A park spokeswoman said that the closure was not related to the damage the park sustained from Hurricane Charley in August. The nine dolphins and three false killer whales (a species which looks similar to dolphins) in the show will be moved backstage during the renovation. Once the show closes, visitors can still view dolphins at Dolphin Cove and the dolphin nursery.See The Orlando Sentinel for more information (free registration is required).
