News: FearFest to be better than ever at PKI

Posted at 6:10 PM EDT (2210 GMT)

Sep. 30th, 2004 -- FearFest is coming back to Kings Island for the fifth time this year, and as before, FearFest will consist of two separate events, the "Fun By Day" festivities for younger children, and the scarier "Fright By Night" when darkness falls. This year, both will make greater use of the park's film connections. Characters will have more Hollywood-esque costumes, and the attractions will be more movie related.

New events at the Fright By Night are Sleepy Hollow Horror, a giant maze that recreates the Headless Horseman's house under a tent, Dracula's Haunted Castle, a new show at the Paramount FX Theater, and Friday the 13th, a gory, special effects-filled performance. Past favorites such as the traditional House of Darkness (complete with a new torture chamber room), the Maze of Madness (which has also gotten more gruesome), and the PsychoPath outdoor trail will return once again.

Among the lighter happenings at FearFest will include the new toddler-based Mini Maze of Mystery, the interactive Wizard's World of Wonder, and classics such as a pumpkin patch and Halloween-themed games.

For much more, including details on the attractions, see The Cincinnati Post and the official FearFest wepage.

PKI sounds like the place to be for Halloween. Its also nice to see them split the day up so family's can take part in it without worrying about scaring the kids.

Yeah, I think it's a great idea. Gives the kids something to do, and what's more, some of the Fright By Night attractions are open during the day, so an entire family can go at the same time and partake in either side of FearFest instead of waiting for a specific time.
