Jan. 6th, 2004 -- The Hersheypark Entertainment Department is looking to hire approximately 85 performers, including dancers, singers, and musicians for the 2004 Season.

Hershey, PA —The Hersheypark Entertainment Department is looking to hire approximately 75 performers, including dancers, singers, and musicians for the 2004 Season.

The Annual Hersheypark Auditions will be held on Saturday, February 21 at the Hersheypark Music Box Theatre. Talented performers will be hired for the four Hersheypark resident shows which are produced and directed by Allan Albert Productions, New York, NY, now in its 26th season with Hersheypark.

At 9 a.m. interviews will be held for backstage personnel including stage managers, dressers, and other technical support positions.

Female and male dancers will audition at 10 a.m. and female and male singer/dancers at 2 p.m.

Dancers should be strong, athletic, and well trained in jazz, tap, and ballet. A choreographer will teach a combination that will be used for the audition. Singers must have strong voices and entertaining personalities. They should bring several selections, uptempo and ballad, in the proper key; an accompanist will be provided. Singers should be prepared to learn a dance combination prior to singing.

Musicians who are interested in performing in Hersheypark bands can audition from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Specialty performers, jugglers, acrobats, and comedians, will audition at 4 p.m. All specialty performers should be prepared to show a sample of their work.

People planning to audition should allow time for same-day callbacks. All applicants must be 18 years old, or a 2004 high school graduate and should bring a resume and a non-returnable photograph to the audition.

Rehearsals for all the shows begin in May. Most show opening dates are in late May, and most shows run seven days a week until Labor Day.

The Hersheypark Entertainment Department also will hold auditions on Saturday, February 28 in New York City at Theatreworks-USA, Chelsea Studios. In addition, Hersheypark representatives will attend Theatre Conferences in Chatanooga, TN and Boston, MA. For more information about performer auditions please call 717-534-3177.

I'd like to audition for the first ride on Storm Runner. Where do I sign up for that?

I third that.

I wonder how difficult it would be to get in one of those shows.
