Posted at 12:34 AM EDT (0434 GMT)

Oct. 2nd, 2004 -- Silver Bullet, Knott's Berry Farm's seventh roller coaster, is set to open on Dec. 7, nearly three weeks ahead of schedule.

The final piece of track was put into place Thursday.

The inverted roller coaster built by Bolliger and Mabillard of Switzerland will tower 146 feet above Knott's Berry Farm and take riders through six inversions.

Silver Bullet was scheduled to open Dec. 24.

Sweet. Now I have a better chance of riding this if I visit the park in December or January. I can't wait to ride Silver Bullet. It may end up being better than Raptor.

This is not a surprise. Glad for the park. I bet B&M is proud.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!! I was going to visit Knott's and ride Silver Bullet on its opening day, but I guess not. Oh well, at least I'm going, and hopefully they'll have all the kinks worked out by then too.

Cool! Nice to see a coaster open early.

I wish it was opening Nov 7th, I might be out there then, but not in December :(

Since the last piece of track has been already added, what else has to be done? I'm guessing the chain lift has to be added and of course the train and then testing. But it seems like this could even open up sooner than two months from now if they really wanted to.

Willski, Me too. I told my mom, and she's upset because she had to argue with other people to get me there that day.I will still be there on the 24 then.

B&M Inverts are indeed the best coasters all around. They age well, they feel nice, they are always exciting. They may not be the fastest, tallest things, but like I said OVERALL you can't beat 'em!
