News: Halloween weddings a hit at SFGAm

Oct. 12th, 2004 -- Fourteen couples, dressed as vampires, bizarre creatures, and even pieces of fruit, got married yesterday at Six Flags Great America, all part of the annual Fright Fest Halloween activities.

Decked out in full Halloween costumes, the couples paraded through the park up to a stage, where they were married by Harry Hartell, a retired judge. The park got several calls from people asking to be married during Fright Fest, and so SFGAm decided to make the marriages part of the day's festivities.

Afterwards, the couples, along with family and friends, celebrated by riding the park's roller coasters as a way to recognize their commitments.

coasterlove Joined: May 2001 Posts: 6479 View Park/Ride Count	I think it was kinda cool that the park did that as part of their Fright Fest activities. It would have been interesting to see. If it had been mentioned somewhere that they were going to do that in advance, I maybe would've went to see it. Some people are either big coaster fans or Halloween fans or both to do that.
