News: Disneyland rides will get a facelift

Posted at 1:54 PM EDT (1754 GMT)

Oct. 18th, 2004 -- Disneyland has announced that family favorites Jungle Cruise and Tea Cups will be getting a facelift as part of the park's 50th anniversary celebration.

Disneyland stopped allowing drivers of the boats on Jungle Cruise to fire blanks at mechanical hippos in 2001. However, they have decided that they will again be allowed. Other improvements include an overhaul of the Mad Tea Party ride and horses carrying carriages down Main Street will once again have name tags.

That's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what they're doing over at Disneyland. Basically EVERYTHING will be rehabed at some point before the big 5-0.

As for the guns on the Jungle Cruise, it's about time. Hopfully they'll be making a return to WDW as well.
