News: Alton Towers fireworks displays allowed

Posted at 3:11 PM EDT (1911 GMT)

Oct. 19th, 2004 -- A judge has ruled that Alton Towers is allowed to have fireworks displays over the next two weekends. They were being protested by neighbors who say it sounds like a "war zone".

The judge sympathized with the neighbors, who are just 100 yards from Alton Towers' entrance. He said he would ban them if he could, but he felt that Tussauds Theme Parks would suffer "substantial irrecoverable losses" if the displays were cancelled on short notices.

Man, If I owned that place I would close it down.. Then let the neighbors complain about the abandoned property with rats, mice and other animals.

I don't know if they have taxes but I'm sure the park contributes to the community in a big way. They either need to move or get over it. All the time and money spent in court has to put a burden on the community and the park.
