News: Silver Dollar City announces Powder Keg

Posted at 2:19 PM EST (1919 GMT)

Nov. 8th, 2004 -- Silver Dollar City has officially announced Powder Keg: A Blast in the Wilderness, the replacement for Buzzsaw Falls. S&S/Arrow will help with the conversion of the ride from a water coaster to a launched coaster.

The new roller coaster will cost Silver Dollar City $10 million, the park's first major addition since adding the very popular Wildfire in 2001. The 3,506 foot-long Powder Keg will feature two compressed-air launches, a top speed of 64 mph and several moments of negative G's.

It is going to have a 110' drop down the preserved buzzsaw fall's lift hill. That is soo cool.

It's looks pretty interesting. Very unique in that it will drop down the lifthill of the coaster Buzzsaw. Kinda sad that they gave up one coaster for another though. I find it strange they will still consider this next coaster a family coaster as well. At a top speed of 64mph, it seems a little intense to be considered a family coaster.
