I'm not surprised about this at all...None of their parks are worth going to anymore except those that get new attractions and that's why I'm not surprised attendence would be down. And another thing, I truly don't see how adding Kingda Ka at SFGAdv is going to increase attendence and revenue at all their parks. I think the whole coaster is now just a big mistake and bad decision on Six Flags part. They didn't have the money to spend on the thing as it is and now they are really in trouble if you ask me. What is this company going to be like in 2-3 years if it continues this same pattern of losing both guests and money? After seeing this, I can really say that this company may not be around in the next 5-10 years if you ask me. They are just digging their whole deeper and deeper.

I know how to fix the problem:
Spend the whole budget for 2005 on basically one park that already has good attendence. Whats next ?
Chapter 11 ????
60% drop in revenues, wow. That can't be good !!!!!

Bad weather again eh???
Six Flags needs a good slap to the face to realize it's their crappy customer service that's killing them, not the "weather".

That is still 56 million in profit that could be used to go against their deficit and don't think that they didn't take loan intrest and depreciation out of that # before posting it as profit.

Poor weather?
"Uh, we understand that our parks are consistently not up to par, and also acknowledge that we put all of our efforts into our three 'money maker' parks while leaving the other umpteen parks we manage up to fend for themselves, but we think it has more to do with the hurricane that came about 500 miles from SF Atlanta. Why, just look at all the fights that broke out down there!"

I love how Six flags always has excuses. Why not just just realize it's mostly because of mistakes they've made. While there have been some big improvements where their bigger parks, they shouldn't neglect their smaller parks. I'm not suggesting they add huge projects at them but maybe some smaller additions. At least on the bright side, they still made profit. As long as they are able to make profit, they'll be alright.

I love this. Their failure is nearly complete. They were too greedy and got too big too fast. Their parks suck, and their customer service sucks even worse.
It's just a matter of time now. I have cursed them, and there is no stopping their demise. Die, Six Flags.

Today their stock is up nearly 10% on huge volume. Makes me wonder if either Snyder or Gates got sick of it and dumped them.

Like em or not, we still need to realize that 6Flags is the biggest amusement park chain in the world. The are bringing in more and more new coasters for us to experience. Yes their customer service is far from the best, but if there were no 6Flags, many of us would not have a home park. I hope they get the $ issue worked out.
