News: Magic Mountain sponsors Christmas parade

Posted at 4:33 PM EST (2133 GMT)

Nov. 9th, 2004 -- The world-famous, star-studded Hollywood Christmas Parade will get a new title this year as Six Flags Magic Mountain becomes the title sponsor of the Hollywood tradition.

"The Six Flags family is as dedicated to children and families as the Hollywood Christmas Parade and we are thrilled to be associated with this annual holiday tradition," stated Del Holland, vice president and general manager of Six Flags California. "We are delighted to usher in this festive season along with the millions of people watching and celebrating with their friends and families."

Entering its 73rd year, the Hollywood Christmas Parade will take place on Sunday, November 28 from 5-7 p.m. Earvin "Magic" Johnson will serve as Grand Marshal of this year's parade. Joining Johnson in the parade will be comedian and star of "The George Lopez Show" George Lopez, "Everybody Loves Raymond" star Brad Garrett, Eva Langoria, a lead in the hit ABC series "Desperate Housewives" and Chip and Kim McAllister, winners of the reality series, "The Amazing Race 5."

The Six Flags Magic Mountain Hollywood Christmas Parade will be broadcast live on KTLA, Channel 5, the WB affiliate in Los Angeles and a Tribune Broadcasting station. The parade will also be carried on Tribune-owned television stations across the country.

Each year, an estimated one million people line the streets of Hollywood to watch the Christmas Parade, while millions more watch the proceedings on television through the stations in the syndication line-up as well as Armed Forces Television.

Comedic performer and renowned radio personality Rick Dees will join "KTLA Morning News" anchor Michaela Pereira to co-host the world-famous and star-studded parade.

I guess anything that brings them attention can possibly help them out. At this point, they use anything that can help them since it might still be a while before they get another major coaster.
