News: Hong Kong Disneyland to open earlier

Posted at 6:06 PM EST (2306 GMT)

Nov. 22nd, 2004 -- Disney's latest theme park, Hong Kong Disneyland, will now open earlier then anticipated. Initially, the park's opening was set sometime in early 2006. That was then moved up to October 2005, but Disney has now set that date at September 12, 2005.

Disney also announced some of the ticket prices. For peak days and the weekends, adult guests will pay 350 Hong Kong dollars (about $45), the least expensive of all Disney parks.

The park will consist of a Main Street USA, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, and Fantasyland, along with two hotels. Bookings for the hotels will open sometime next year. Hong Kong Disneyland is expected to attract around 5.6 million guests for the first year.

I hope Disney can make a go of it with this park.

They've been floundering for so long overseas. I can't believe they keep building these parks.

^lol.

Well, I too hope the Disney can make this work, and work well. Also, 45 dollars for a ticket is extremely cheap for a disney park.
