I'm glad they took the time and actually sat down with them and talked to them. Now that's a class act right there!
A water park shouldn't be that noisy, but anything built their would produce some. I just hope the locals realize how lucky they are to have Cedar Fair now instead of Six Flags because they are going to respect them so much better now.

Spehn is generally a nice guy, and would much rather be a good neighbor to the citizens of the community.
It won't be as loud with the water park than with anything else they've had.

I get so tired when I hear of people complaining about the stuff in the area they live in. What did they think would happen when they move next door to an amusement park? Yes, I know originally that wasn't part of the actual park but still pretty close though. I say Cedar Fair should blow off the fireworks their hearts desire. If the residents don't like it...there's the door. See ya. It's the same thing here in Chicago with Wrigley Field or O'Hare Airport. What did they think, it would be quiet near either of them? Offhand, I don't know how long ago O'Hare was built but I know it's been there for at least 30+ years and I'd guess maybe over 40 years. That's condiserably longer than most residents who live near it have lived in their current location. And don't even get me started on Wrigley Field. It's been there for almost 100 years.
Bottomline- if the residents of that particular town don't like it....tough!!!

I completely agree with you coasterlove...I mean, what do you think they are expecting when they move next to an amusement park? I mean, do you think that things are going to be quiet and it will be peaceful to the town. I say hell no. Like you said, I think that if they don't like it, they should move. I understand Spehn is a nice guy and all, but theres only so much you can do to satisfy the neighborhood. They live next to an amusemnent park, do they really think that the park is going to always listen to them when they don't like something going on. I just can't wait to hear what the people say when the wave pool opens in 2006 and that alarm goes off every few minutes to start the waves. :D
I do have to say, that they are lucky Geauga Lake didn't put a hyper over there, I can guarantee it would have been extremely louder than the water park.
