News: Universal Orlando raises ticket prices

Posted at 3:19 PM EST (2019 GMT)

Dec. 20th, 2004 -- Just weeks after Walt Disney World announced a jump in ticket prices, Universal Orlando is following suit. The price for one-day admission to Islands of Adventure or Universal Studios now costs $59.75, a 15 percent increase over this time last year.

While Walt Disney World cut the costs of longer, multiple-day visit tickets, Universal Orlando has raised prices on all multiple-day tickets. However, officials are quick to point out that the prices are still less expensive than the Disney equivalents.

Yikes, $60 dollars is just too much for one day at an amusement park!

You would think someone would be smart and keep prices $5 lower than Disney in order to make it somewhat more marketable. But then again, they're not going to see a major decrease in attendance from this, so they might as well make more money....

These prices are getting ridiculous. What family can afford regular trips to Orlando with tickets being this expensive.
