News: Legoland to host kid-friendly New Years

Posted at 5:57 PM EST (2257 GMT)

Dec. 21st, 2004 -- On Dec. 31, when the clocks strike 6 p.m. on the Pacific coast, it means 2005 is still six hours off. For those at Legoland California, 6 p.m. will be the time of celebration as the theme park rings in the new year with a special kid-friendly party.

The New Years "celebricktion" begins at 3 p.m. with dancing, music, and children sharing their New Years resolutions. At 6 p.m. a giant Lego brick will drop 22 feet in the park's version of the famous Times Square ball drop. A fireworks show ends the festivities.

The party is free with admission to the park. Guests will get a variety of souvenirs, including a commemorative Lego piece.

Lame-O!!
I dunno, at least wait until 7 or 8, kids don't need to go to bed so early on New Years. I can say that since I was 4 or 5, I've never slept through 12 AM.

You'd be surprised how early some younger children go to sleep, a lot of them are in bed by 7, so this is a pretty good time.
