Multimedia: An all inclusive amusement park guide

Posted at 9:57 AM EST (1457 GMT)

Dec. 28th, 2004 -- Traveling to more than 500 parks in 17 different countries, award-winning journalist Tim O'Brien works his hardest to let the public in on great travel information as well as tidbits for park enthusiasts. The 360 pages of his "Amusement Park Guide" tell the reader exactly what rides exist in which park. O'Brien works to bring the amusement park vacation to families of all ages and sizes through fun articles and exciting details.

The fifth edition contains a massive update of park information as well as a special section on the carousel. By including the carving information, a brief history, as well as names of carvers, O'Brien brings a fresh new view to one of the oldest amusement park features.

Keeping in step with his former editions of this book, "The Amusement Park Guide" includes numerous top 10 guides, safe and fun vacation planning tips, as well as top parks and coasters all over the world. And don't forget to check out the image you find when fanning the book on its side, a roller coaster is shown zipping down the edge of the pages.

Purchase your own copy of The Amusement Park Guide for $17.

I'm guessing there's a big "whoops" somewhere. SFNE stinks, since you have the "latest" book, how is it?

I checked this book out. (LITERALLY- from the library) It wasn't a bad book. I thought it was geared more toward the "one park a year general public" crowd. Guide books for amusement parks get dated so fast. It was good reading. There were a lot of little tid bit facts that were kinda neat.

There was a statistic that I thought was neat:

More people go to parks in one year than all four major sports event complete year attendance. I guess especially hockey.

I have that book. I really liked it.

rcdb doesnt have a coaster "zipping" down the pages as you browse, but it pretty much is the same info.

Rcdb is the greatest thing to plan a trip with. GREAT WEBSITE. You can especially pick off the smaller parks that you may otherwise have missed.
