News: Knott's: Bring food, save money

Posted at 5:53 PM EST (2253 GMT)

Dec. 30th, 2004 -- For the fourth year, Knott's Berry Farm is coordinating a canned food drive for the Orange County Food Bank. In an effort to raise more donations, the amusement park is rewarding visitors who bring canned food to the park.

From Jan. 4 to Jan. 31, guests who bring a can of food to Knott's will only pay $16.95 instead of the normal $45 for an adult ticket. The food goes to helping the needy families in Orange County and the surrounding areas.

Knott's says that the promotion is a way to encourage people to give past the holiday season.

I'm for it. A charity combined with an amusement park...what could be better. (...and the story is relevant. Kudos TN!)

Wow that's a great deal! Surprised they would go that low. That's the time to visit.

I think this is a great idea. $28 off just for bringing a can of food, that's an awesome bargain, not to mention the good it does. Good job, Knott's!

So all you have to do is bring in 1 can, and save all that money?

I would actually feel bad if I brought only 1 can and saved....

I would bring in like 20 or more if I would want to save.

That is really a large discount. I can't believe you get that for bringing in a single can of food.
