News: SFNE wants three rides for 2005

Posted at 1:47 AM EST (0647 GMT)

Jan. 9th, 2005 -- Six Flags New England submitted plans to build three rides for the 2005 season: Slingshot, Spinning Coaster and Typhoon Water Slide.

Slingshot will be 146 feet tall, Spinning Coaster will be 42 feet tall and Typhoon Water Slide -- to be built in the park's water park, Hurricane Harbor -- will be 39 feet tall.

The city planning board must approve site plans for all three rides, and a special variance must be granted to build Slingshot. The maximum height rides can be is 45 feet tall, according to a variance application the park submitted.

I'd bank on a Ragin' Cajun' clone for the spinner. That ride is so fun, beut the capacity is absolutely terrible.

So, they are considering other parks. Good job SFI. Maybe we can see them put rides in their smaller parks in the next year or two.

Yay!

This is great that SFNE is getting new stuff, and good things at that.

I'm pretty excited for this :)

The only thing that sounds odd is the spinning coaster going around Timewarp, that will be a tight fit. There isn't that much room in that area.

Bk, sfne stinks isn't referring to the park stinking because it sucks, he's referring to the actual smell. Haha.

If these get approved, it's a good step. Adding a major attraction and two rides for the park and water park should help attendance a little. Six Flags definitely needs that.
