That definition certainly sounds like amusement park rides!

At firstI thought the article implied that the rides aren't being enjoyed. Hah. No, I disagree, this is very unfair, Ohio is being picky.

I dont agree with the tax code, Are rides structures? No. They should not have to pay tax on any rides. Well, there are 49 other states they could have a park, if I was Six Flags I would have been fed up with Ohio by this year, they have recieved nothing but flak since they arrived.

/ Actually tntorandox, amusement park rides such as rollercoasters ARE structures. Not building structures, but structures in their own right. The only reason Six Flags should not have to pay those taxes from '99-'03 is because rollercoasters/amusement park rides fit in that Ohio-law decription for tax-free structures.

Although this would be a big financial blow to the park, I almost have to agree with the state in this case. If the structure is used to make a profit for a business, then it should indeed be taxed. If I own a house, I must pay property taxes on the house. If I build a garage next to my house, my property value will increase, and so will my taxes. If you think of it along those lines, it makes perfect sense for six flags to pay taxes too.

Under Ohio law, it seems as though there should be no question about it, these rides shouldn't be taxed. They certainly contribute to the enjoyment of the property, and it appears that means that they're tax-exempt.

Thats what they get for not checking all tax laws.which they dint from the way it sounds.there people who take care of there money should of checked into it.how does anyone know if the states has or havs not the tax law.besides ohio isnt a bad state.i lived here all my life.they do have a water park here six flags does and had not put anything new in it since 2000 i think and the rides dry ones some dont work half the time and the park does need a very major over haul.more everything.or just sell it to paramount parks or cedar fair cause they know what they are doing anymore.the only new things they have are the bumper cars and that whole side do to a fire cause there insurance paid for everything.which was good but they need to put money into it or sell the dang park to someone who can care for it.six flags aint a bad company most of the time but they need to do some real over haul on there parks to make more people go to the parks or make more money.
