Industry Announcements: Magic Springs announces expansion

Posted at 5:49 PM EST (2249 GMT)

Jan. 11th, 2005 -- Today, Magic Springs & Crystal Falls amusement park in Hot Springs, AR, announced a $7 million expansion plan over the next two years.

One central part of the expansion plan is a new shoot-the-chute style water ride called "Plummet Summit", which will cost about $2 million. The ride will stand about 50 feet tall and is expected to open on Memorial Day.

The park also has plans to ask voters to approve a $4.1 million bond issue that would be used for the expansion. If the proposal is accepted, a vote would be held in early March.

Sounds neat. Plummit Summit. Haha, the oppsite way of the name at Blizzard Beach- Summit Plummit. Either way is a good name.

Hopefully the bond will help expansion money wise in the later years!
